Budding Futures ABA

What is ABA therapy?

ABA therapy, or Applied Behavior Analysis therapy, is a widely recognized and evidence-based treatment for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. It focuses on improving specific behaviors and skills by systematically applying principles of learning theory to modify behavior.

What is the best way to treat Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)?

While there’s no one-size-fits-all approach, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy has significant research supporting its effectiveness in improving behavior and skills in individuals with ASD.

What's the difference between a BCBA and an RBT?

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a licensed professional who designs and supervises ABA therapy programs. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) implements these programs under the BCBA’s supervision.

What sets Budding Futures ABA apart from other ABA providers?

We provide personalized attention and individualized treatment plans that cater to your child’s specific needs and preferences. The close-knit and localized nature of our local organization facilitates strong relationships between our therapists, children, and their families, promoting effective communication and collaboration throughout the therapy process. We also focus on providing continuity of care, ensuring that your child will not be left without proper follow up treatment. Finally, we emphasize our relationship with the overall family and other healthcare providers to make sure that your child is experiencing comprehensive care with many touchpoints to ensure consistency and alignment.

What is Budding Futures mission?

Our mission is to cultivate a collaborative partnership between our dedicated team of professionals and the families we serve. Guided by compassion, joy, accountability, integrity, and excellence, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of clinical care to our clients within a compassionate setting.

How do we help your child?

Budding Futures ABA will help your child by systematically teaching essential skills (including communication, social skills, play and leisure, flexibility, cooperation and self-help), reducing challenging behaviors, and promoting independence and social inclusion.

How do we empower your family?

Our therapy involves active participation from parents and caregivers, who learn strategies to support their child’s progress and manage challenging behaviors effectively.  Our therapists provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to families, empowering them to play an active role in their child’s development.

What's the youngest age that you will treat my child?

We provide ABA therapy to children as young as 18 months old. Early intervention is key to maximizing the benefits of therapy and promoting optimal development.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Yes, we accept Medicaid and work with families to navigate insurance coverage and payment options.

Do you offer clinic-based ABA therapy?

At the moment, we focus on providing in-home ABA therapy. However, we are actively exploring opportunities to expand our services to include clinical-based therapy in the future.

What qualifications and experience do your therapists have?

Our BCBAs (board certified behavior analysts) and RBTs (registered behavior technicians) are highly qualified and professional with specialized training in ABA therapy. They have extensive experience working with children, especially those with autism spectrum disorder. At Budding Futures ABA, we ensure that our behavior technicians and analysts undergo rigorous training and receive ongoing education to provide the best possible care for your child. For a full explanation of the qualifications and roles of BCBAs, BTs and RBTs, see here.

ABA therapy

How long are ABA therapy sessions, and how frequently?

ABA therapy is intensive, with our recommended schedules starting at around 20 hours and going up to as many as 40 hours of therapy per week. Typically, sessions will take place every day and will often last several hours. As your child gains skills, we can gradually decrease the intensity of our services and assist your family to transition to less intensive environments such as school. Ideally, your child will reach a point where intensive ABA services are no longer necessary.

How many years will my child need ABA therapy?

The duration of ABA therapy varies for each child and depends on factors such as the severity of ASD and individual progress. Many children benefit from several years of ABA therapy, while others may require less intensive support.

What are the best things I can do to help my child with ASD?

Consistency, patience, and creating a supportive environment are essential. Additionally, participating in ABA therapy and staying informed about ASD can empower you to support your child’s growth and development effectively.

Who are the best ABA therapists?

The best ABA therapists are compassionate, skilled professionals who prioritize the well-being and progress of their clients. Look for therapists who are certified, experienced, and dedicated to ongoing learning and professional development.

Your Clinical Team

Board Certified Behavior Analyst™ (BCBA)

An individual with at least Master’s level training in Applied Behavior Analysis. BCBAs are members of the professional body, Behavior Analytic Certification Board, and have completed an internship and rigorous testing process in addition to their graduate level coursework. Additionally, they are required to complete on-going continuing education.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

An individual that has undergone a competency based assessment process determined by the Behavior Analytic Certification demonstrating their proficiency in providing ABA services under the direct and close supervision of a BCBA. RBTs must repeat the assessment process annually. RBTs report to their supervising BCBA and seek guidance from their BCBA when challenging situations come about. Like BTs, they work only under the direction of a BCBA and are responsible for the implementation of ABA services.
